Responses of the Fluoride Mouthrinsing Prongramme


Abstract
The purpose of this study was to obtain the basic data to feedback for the development of the School based fluoride mouthrinsing programme which had been one of the national oral health programmes since 1983.
9 primary schools which implemented the fluoride mouthrinsing programme were selected as samples on a nationwide scale. The responses to the programme of the 1,140 children who were 8 years old at 3rd grade, 102 school teachers and 887 parents of
the
children were surveyed and analysed.
@ES The obtained results were as follows:
@EN 1. For the development of fluoride mouthrinsing programme, the periodical oral health education programme were required for school teachers and parents as well as schoolchildren participating in the programme.
2. Dentists and oral hygienists at health centers and health subcenters should be responsible for the oral health education programme of the schoolchildren, their teachers and their parents.
3. 89.21% of children, 85.21% of school teachers and93.21% of parents evaluated the fluoride mouthrinsing programme was beneficial for the improvement of children a oral health.
4. It was calculated that average frequency of toothbrushing in a day of each child was 2.58 times. The rate of after-meal toothbrushing of the total toothbrushing in day was 81.78%.
5. It was considered that the administrative support and technical supervision of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health and Welfares should be required for the schools participating in the programme.
